The History of Taj Mahal Madrid
Waheed Murad, born in 1976, Gujrat, Pakistan, is passionate in sharing his culture and gastronomy from his country of origin. In 2004 he decided to embark on a new adventure that would change his life forever. He traveled to Spain with the dream of opening a restaurant that would offer the essence of Indian and Pakistani cuisine.
Once in Spain he chose Madrid as the perfect city to open his first restaurant. With determination and dedication he opened doors to his first Taj Mahal in Calle Belén. His aim was to offer Madrid a unique culinary experience, serving authentic and exquisite dishes that reflect tradición and flavors from his homeland.
There was total success with the first Taj Mahal. Madrileños were captivated with the delicious food, the cozy atmosphere and the exceptional atencion from staff. The restaurant became a reference point for lovers of Indian and Pakistani food in Madrid.
Given the favorable outcome Waheed decided to expand his business and open his second Taj Mahal in 2015, in Calle Cardenal Cisneros. Following the same principles that worked with the first, the second Taj Mahal gained the heart of Madrileños once again.
With every new opening Waheed assures that each Taj Mahal restaurant maintains the essence from the Indian, Pakistani culture. Every detail, from the decoración to the ingredients used in dishes are selected carefully so as to offer an authentic experience.
